In 1961, when an opportunity arose for the Jersey Rugby Club to acquire fields suitable for rugby pitches and to build a clubhouse, the Jersey Rugby Football Club Limited company was formed to purchase and own that land and the clubhouse which was subsequently built upon it.
The original clubhouse, sited on what is now the Jersey Bowl car park was, by 1990, in a very serious state of repair with the club having little or no finances for renovation. Officers of the Limited company conducted a number of business negotiations which involved ceding the strip of land on which now exists the Jersey Bowl in exchange, very beneficially, for the construction of the present clubhouse.
There are seven Directors/Shareholders of the Company, and they are:-

These Directors are all members of the club and have served in various capacities over the years. They are effectively acting as trustees, and their position is to make sure that there is a club and grounds in existence in the future for all to enjoy the game of rugby football, from the youngsters in the academy through to the senior representative squad.
In addition to those listed elected Directors/Shareholders, the President and Chairman of the club are ex-officio Directors during the term of their office, which maintains the link between the two bodies and allows discussion on matters of mutual interest or concern. Most recently the Limited company successfully negotiated a long term lease for a substantial area of Crown land adjacent to the grounds where 2 full sized pitches have been developed. These pitches are used, in the main, by the eleven squads of the Jersey RFC Academy and have eased the heavy burden previously placed on the 1st team pitch.
