Hampshire 31/10/10

On Sunday 31st Oct, Hampshire U16s beat Surrey 23 -17 at Heathfield & Waldron RFC.

Harry Cochrane (scrum half) & George Banks (prop) were selected to start but only played first half as expected (this was their second assessed game for divisional region selection and  subs were brought on in the second half for their assessment: key changes made were - front row, 9, 10, 12, 13).

In the first half Surrey had a scrum just outside their 22m from which the Surrey 10 was slow to get his kick away, Hants back row charged down the kick and Harry collected to sprint to right of posts, kick was converted.  13-12 at halftime, Surrey made similar amount of changes (again for assessment) which weakened their side more than Hants. Early try for replacement centre put Hants 18-12 in the lead. Each side scored an unconverted try in latter stages.

This was a very competitive match against the probably the strongest county side in the Hants division.
