Hampshire U16 County Selection for Matt Kaye

Matt Kaye of Jersey Rugby Club Academy has, after 6 training and trial sessions over the Summer, been selected for the Hampshire U16 County Squad.  This is the 3^rd year Matt has been asked to represent the County and is now Jersey's sole representative at this age group.

Alan Morgan (Hampshire U16 Team Manager ) said "Matt has been selected for this year's Hampshire County U16 Rugby squad of 30.  The squad has been selected from 53 boys who represented the County last year, plus a further 40 who attended this year's open trials. On this basis, Matt's selection is a great achievement given the number and calibre of the other young players who were competing for squad places.   The U16 is the first year in which a number of our matches will also be trials for the London and South East Division "

Matt, who a cousin of Jersey 1^st XV new arrival Guy Thompson, will now travel to the South of England to train and play 6 times before the end of the year.  His first match will be on Wednesday 12 October v Buckinghamshire, in Marlow.
