Parking at St Peters

JRFC Travel Arrangements for Saturday 3rd December & going forward.

"Turn up early, or consider leaving the car at home." That's the advice from Jersey Rugby Club in the face of growing interest and crowd numbers at St Peter.

With the club playing at the highest level in our history and enjoying a successful run of results, it's no surprise that more spectators have been attracted to our home games. This Saturday we are due to play Coventry starting at 3pm.

Around 1,300 people watched the game against league leaders Ealing in September, but since then the attendance figure has risen to 1,500, then 1,800 for the two matches in October, while in November there were crowds of 1,900+ and more than 2,100 flocked to St Peter for the games against Barking and Tynedale.

In light of this, we remind all members and supporters about the option of bus travel to St Peter, in partnership with the Mybus service operated by Connex - this takes just 17 minutes from St Helier on the number 9 route. Club members can get free travel on the outward journey on production of their membership cards, while all spectators can get a free return trip after the game by producing their match ticket.

Pre-match buses on the number 9 leave Liberation Station at 1150 and 1350, with returns after the match at 1650, 1708 and 1808. Spectators
can also use the number 15 airport service and disembark at the Mermaid stop, although no concessions are available on this route.

Those who do wish to drive will be able to park on pitch 3, accessed via the Jersey Bowl entrance off the airport road, and on pitch 6 which can be accessed from Rue des Sauvalleries, off Rue des Landes (first turning on the right after the entrance to JRFC carpark).

"The club will be working with the Honorary Police in St Peter to make sure things run smoothly, and members of the JRFC Academy will also be lending a hand," states Bill Dempsey. "We'll be able to accommodate
everyone, although we would urge spectators to consider other ways of getting to the game, particularly by bus.

"Fans can also beat the rush by arriving early, so we hope they'll do that and that it'll be another good day for the club, and the island."
