How does one start playing?
It is recommended that one trains with the club for at least a fortnight before asking to be considered for selection (If one has played before) or longer if a complete novice; it is a tough contact game and physical preparation is a must. The Laws of the game change slightly every season so do come up and watch some games and ask any questions arising. The club has a professional coach who will point new players in the correct direction in our weights room and on our training pitch. Official training is on tuesday and thursday every week in the season, starting at 18.30 at the clubhouse unless otherwise directed. A meal can be purchased after training at the bar for £4, most do not want to go home and start cooking after a workout! Applications for membership can be printed out from this website or collected from the clubhouse. Another way of starting or getting back into the game is to get involved with the summer touch rugby leagues; this sharpens up the handling skills and is great for stamina.
